Meet @michelayoga
sharing her #yogasavedmylife story with us. These are her words đ
.
. "I was already practicing, had done a first Teacher Training & was teaching & working in an office part time
.
.
I was in a relationship, we were living together & had decided to buy a house & paid the first payment. For me, that person was the person I would spend my life with
.
.
On a Sunday evening, after 5 years together, with no warning, he simply told me he would move on. That was it
.
.
There are more dramatic stories out there, but for me, that was a deep shock. Within 24 hours the person I loved left the house & the life I thought we were building up together. I remember one thing: the tears
.
Then the urge to sit on my mat & breathe. So I just did that, breathing using Pranayama techniques I knew. And I kept on doing that and finally could find some calm. The following months were a nightmare, yet the anchor I had found in breathing helped me tremendously
.
I realised the Yoga I'd been doing, learning & teaching before that point had just been a preparation for the real Yoga I started to practice, the tools I had learned started to make total sense to me
.
I slowly became strong again, gained a total different view on everything, made mistakes, changed again, readjusted, changed again & readjusted .
The journey has no end, I keep on learning, but I definitely turned to another life thanks to that drastic change back in January 2014
.
Today, I own my little yoga studio, work as a freelancer & as a yoga teacher. I lead retreats, Teacher Trainings & find tremendous joy in sharing this ancient discipline that has been & is still my anchor! .
Yoga is a form of powerful healing, it's really not about the fancy poses, it's goes deep under your skin & allows you to establish a healthy intimate relationship with yourself in order to face the ever changing world & life around you
.
This is why, I will for ever be thankful to Yoga
đ Namaste, Michaela"
