Meet Nikki @finding_your_new_normal sharing her #yogasavedmylife story with us 💚

"I was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called cavernoma aged 14 years old. By the time I was 30 years old I had suffered 6 strokes & had Brain surgery, lost 50% of my vision and the use of the left side of my body. I felt lost, scared & lonely"

.

"I was so scared to walk into a yoga studio with one side of my body not working as it had in the past. But I am so glad I did. It is by far one of the best decisions I have ever made

.

My teacher understood completely how to use yoga to get me into the positions but also, she understood that with yoga I could and would heal myself. Her confidence in the practice gave me the confidence to keep showing up to the classes week after week, even if some weeks I barely got out of child's pose. Now I can do many more postures, I even travelled to India alone to do my YTT. I surprise myself some days with the postures I can now do

.

Yoga not only helped me to regain the use of my weak left side. It helped me to love my body again and also to calm my mind helping me to come to terms with the emotional trauma stroke leaves behind

.

I am so excited that I have now gained my YTTC 200 hours so that I can pass on this magical practice to help others find their calm in the storm 🙏
