"Yoga found me when I needed it most"
.
"My mother introduced me to yoga as a way to calm down my active lifestyle. I competed at a high level in a few sports, Hockey, tennis & athletics & she felt yoga would be the perfect balance to help me relax. Little did she know that it would help me so much more than just physically & ultimately change my life! .
.
I started working in the corporate world & realised this wasn’t for me, but stuck it out for 3 years. My yoga practice kept me sane through the difficult days. It helped me feel more clear, calm & gave me the tools to cope & I quickly realised that yoga must become a way of life for me
.
After taking the leap & quitting my job I used my yoga training course as my medicine. I quickly realised that teaching was my passion. I felt so at home guiding, helping people & sharing the magic of yoga
.
I used to struggle with self confidence growing up, I never believed in myself. This was evident in my sporting career, particularly during tough tennis matches I never had the mental edge or believed I could win
.
During my short corporate career, I was unmotivated, bored & unenthusiastic. I learned a lot about myself on the mat & took these lessons off the mat into daily life
.
Yoga has taught me to follow my passion & be alive. It has taught be to truly believe in myself & all that I do & that anything can be achieved with hard work & determination. That failure is just part of the journey. Yoga has taught me to be patient with my body & this has translated into life lessons. It has taught me to slow down, enjoy the process & the result isn’t the be all & end all. If it doesn’t work out, so be it
.
I’m so lucky to be able to share this with people & am committed to teaching community classes to help others reap the benefits that a regular practice can offer. It has certainly changed my life & I'd love for it to change others too!"
