"My yoga journey started with unresolved grief, rooted in my time serving for the military. Hurt and suffering woke me up every morning. Withdrawn from the light, negativity pooled like water in an underground cavern. Triggers from time spent on deployment unleashed depression and outbursts of angerâloud sounds resembling gunfire, cars driving over steel plates on the road, and the smell of gasoline brought me back to the battlefield daily"

"Isolation eventually brought me to Yoga via Instagram. The world through a screen couldnât trigger me as much. Watching others, I searched for tools and practices. At first, the physical elements enticed meâsequencing, strength building, balance. My time serving as a martial arts instructor resurfaced
.
Once I began exploring those elements, my mental resilience grew. I started to dive into that cavern of terror and witness the memories of war and trauma. I could swim through them, unhurt. They were just passing ripples on my journey into the depths of my soulâa place I had forgotten existed
.
Eventually I reached the deepest point, where I found happy memories that had sunk to the bottom. I tossed them there thinking they were tainted by the darkness around them. Yoga gave me the resolve to push away negativity & bring light to myself âïž
.
Yoga has helped in many ways, but Yoga Saved my life, and each day after stepping on the mat, paths continue to unfold that were never there beforeâblinded by the shadows within myself
.
Yoga gave the tools and practices to help reach the divine Self that resides within. Breath with movement followed by stillness was the combination no matter how expressed. Yoga has and continues to be a source of knowledge that seems never to end
.
I value each connection and look for the inspiration in each person I share with, drinking from the universal source, and hopefully somewhere along the way. I hope to inspire someone else to tap into their source and to teach others, share their growth, kindness, and truths
.
Yoga means life, and it gives a roadmap back to the place called home đ
