"I have postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, POTS for short. It affects the heart & autonomic nervous system so everything your body does naturally is out of wack. It affects blood pressure, heartbeats, blood oxygen levels, bladder function, digestive system, core temperature control- the list goes on & on
As you can imagine this is a painful, debilitating & even dangerous syndrome to have to live with"The most common danger is fainting. It can happen anytime & any place. Simple things like driving, grocery shopping, working & even exercising can become very difficult

I started yoga to bring more stability into my life, even though at that time I could only manage basic sitting yoga. That's all it took, I work hard to keep my body strong despite it's shortcomings and yoga has probably been one of the best medicines for my condition .
.
Not only physically but mentally. For example: 2 years ago I lived in a TINY apartment with 6 other people, the level of toxicity & drama was INSANE .
We were all living on site for a job so I couldn't escape it.(believe me, I questioned if it was worth it, a million times) .
Unfortunately it became so EMOTIONALLY DEGRADING to the point where I would cry myself to sleep (My heart still aches at how sadistic those people could be💔)
.
Enter yoga 🙏
.
Being forced to stay in a horrible atmosphere I decided I needed to do something to try & keep my sanity .
Hours before work I would tiptoe around the bunk beds to a small clearing in front of the window & I would meditate with the sunrise

.
You cannot change how OTHERS act but you can change how you make peace with it
.
.
Yoga taught me to accept where I am in life & that has been the greatest gift of all because the thought of dealing with POTS for EVER, can make one go a tad crazy. Yoga saved my life

I am forever grateful to myself for turning inwards for peace & proud of my first steps to discovering a deep reservoir of selflove 💚🙏"
