Meet @maykemindfulmotherhood sharing her #yogasavedmylife story. These are her words 💙
.
. "I started my yoga practice in 2012. I was hit by a car and woke up 7 days later in the hospital at the Intensive Care. I was diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury. A month later my father died. I felt broken both physically and emotionally. I had severe headaches daily and couldn't do anything: watch TV, read a book or go out with friends. My energy was very low, I couldn't concentrate and had to quit my job. I was only 23 years old and my life fell apart
.
.
My doctor advised me to do yoga and mindfulness training to learn to deal with the chronic pain and accept my disability
.
My first time on the mat afterwards I couldn't even touch my toes. My whole body hurt and I felt terrible, but in savasana something beautiful happened. I felt like I was floating in the ocean, relaxed
.
I’ve been doing yoga ever since
.
Yoga and mindfulness helped me during my rehabilitation. Slowly my body heals from the inside and the pains gets less and less. 1 1/2 years ago I became a mother and yoga helps me to be the best version of myself for my son. It keeps me focused and relaxed
.
.
6 months ago I started my own business teaching mothers and pregnant ladies mindfulness. I love my job and I'm positive that one day my health problems disappear for good. I couldn't have done it without my daily yoga and meditation" 💚🙏 Mayke
