"I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer October 4, 2018"
.
Meet @gypsy.dharma sharing her #yogasavedmylife story with us. These are her words đ
. "I grew up a dancer & Yoga was always a âthingâ we knew about. A class here & there. Fast forward to adult life & I began to take yoga more seriously, inspired by a lot of what I saw on @instagram
.
One morning a week, became two & three & before I knew it, I was doing #yogaeverydamnday . The physical practice of yoga became a daily habit, & my body thrived on my consistent yoga practice. I was in the best shape of my life
.
Two years into my serious daily yoga practice & inversion training, during a self-breast exam in my shower, I felt a mass that was different from the rest of my breast. I called my husband at the time to ask his opinion, & he confirmed something felt different
.
When I got the diagnosis, I felt like cancer was about to take everything that fed my soul & helped me shine. I did not recognize that my cancer journey was going to be the driving force to connect my mind to my body, & my soul to my mind
.
There is a lifestyle of yoga, I feel makes living this life on earth bearable. I learned to become more aware of what my body is telling me. I have found healing powers from nature. I appreciated the physical benefits of yoga, but y cancer journey gave me a chance to practice and appreciate the spiritual & mental benefits as well đ
.
I now yearn for meditation each morning. Life is constant practice in balance
.
Yoga gives me the patience to practice, to weeble & wobble and even fall! I initially felt like yoga was going to be taken away from me but it did the exact opposite
.
The time I spent going through My Cancer journey gave me the tools I needed to find myself, to find ways to choose to spread light, to be open to all of lifeâs experiences
.
I do not think my physical health would have bounced back as well as it did without my yoga routine. I came prepared for a battle I did not know I would have to fight đ Yoga saved my life đ
