"I am to grateful to yoga. It brought me home. To myself"

Meet @yogafordharma sharing her #yogasavedmylife story with us💚

"Pregnancy. It can seem scary, the things we go through and what it does to our body. It can start to feel like it’s not your own anymore. It sort of isn’t... I remember being okay with the way my body changed, I embraced it. I ate healthy with my first pregnancy I did not exercise, I only went for walks

.

After my first son was born I wasn’t even that concerned with getting back in shape. I was immersed in Mom life, happier than I had ever been. But slowly things started to change as my second & third son came along. Through each pregnancy my body changed more and more, each time I never thought I would feel the same again

. I worked out, ran constantly after my 2nd & 3rd son, I even ran a few marathons, but nothing seemed to be fulfilling enough...

.

IN COMES YOGA

.

I had been doing hot power yoga from time to time for years. But it wasn’t until after my second child (when I was really struggling emotionally) that it all clicked for me. I started finding this time so cleansing for my soul, Not just for a physical work out

.

I started gravitating to Meditation classes, Kundalini and eventually Dharma Yoga classes in NYC. Once I really immersed myself in the practice that’s when I Truly found something Amazing. My Self

.

It was there all along, but I just wasn’t paying attention. I mean...It’s a pretty hard thing to do when you’ve got toddlers running around, but that’s why it was so crucial for me to schedule the time for myself

.

If I never did that & got myself to those classes I do not know how I would have found my way through

.

I found myself again, my strength my courage, connection to self returned. By taking some time for ME. I’m stronger now, I can handle the things life throws at me, as a householder Yogi i thrive on being mindful with my family and Yoga has helped me tremendously with this. This is how I maintain my life now, finding a passion and investing love into it can guide you home"
